YOUNGSTOWN

The Youngstown Metropolitan Housing Authority will have a financial fitness workshop on “Accessing Home Readiness” from 10 a.m. to noon and 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 8.

The workshop will take place at YMHA, 131 W. Boardman St. The workshop is free, but registration is required at least a day before each workshop. Call 330-744-2161, ext. 251, to register.

For the past 13 years, the “25 Under 35” has recognized more than 350 outstanding young professionals who have impacted the Mahoning Valley not only in their career work but also through the hours they give to various nonprofits.

Mahoning Valley Safety Council’s “Inspiring Safer Workplaces with Brad Hurtig” will take place from 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 9 at Avalon Inn, 9519 E. Market St.

Hurtig is a double amputee who became a motivational speaker. He will deliver an inspirational message about overcoming obstacles and adversity.

The Trumbull County Planning Commission has teamed up with “Mahoning Valley is for Entrepreneurs” to have a workshop for anyone who is thinking about starting a business in Trumbull County. Key topics for beginning a business will be addressed at the workshop from 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 5 at the Raymond J. Wean Foundation, 147 W. Market St.

JobsOhio and its regional partners announced recently eight Ohio sites have been SiteOhio authenticated. Ohio’s authentication process designates property within the state that have infrastructure and utilities already in place, avoiding incompatible use and ensuring the property can get to market faster.

The properties as of July are Airport West Industrial Park in Richland County; Eastwood Commerce Center in Wood County; Leesburg Industrial Park in Highland County; Logan Hocking Commerce Park in Hocking County; NextEdge Research and Technical Park in Clark County; Ohio Crossroads Industrial Center in Crawford County; PrimeOhio II Industrial Park in Clark County; and Washington Industrial Park in Fayette County.
