Children spent the afternoon at the Boardman library riding ponies, making crafts and listening to stories on July 19.

Workers from Ponytails Pony Rides and Petting Zoo brought in three ponies for children to ride. Each guest who came to visit received a ticket and were being called up to ride a pony when it was their turn. There were different sizes ponies for children of different ages and sizes.

As the children waited for their turn, they participated in different outdoor activities to keep them busy. There was a story time where the assistant supervisor of children’s works, Karen Saunders, read stories about ponies and horses to children. There were also tables set up for children to make crafts and blocks to build different items.

Cornhole was set up in the parking lot, a giant hopscotch and bean bag toss were set up in the grass and several other games provided entertainment for the waiting children.

When the children were called up for their turn to ride the pony, they sat on the pony as it walked several laps around the pen. The employees led the ponies around for the safety of the children.
