Struthers Historical Society, 50 Terrace St., will meet at noon on Aug. 6. Plans for the second Alexander Frankfort Day on Saturday, September 30 will be discussed. After the meeting, a presentation of “Iron Valley: The Transformation of the Iron Industry in Ohio’s Mahoning Valley, 1802-1913” will be shown at the Trumbull County Historical Society, 303 Monroe St. NW, Warren. Members who would like to see the presentation are planning to carpool. All members are welcome.
SUPPORT GROUPS
Codependency and Grief Support Group will meet Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Chapel of Sheepfold Ministries, 233 North Ave. Sharon, Pa. A meeting will also take place at 7 p.m. at the care center of the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home, North Main Street, Hubbard. Group sessions are free but participants must register to participate. The support group was formed to reach out to help families who have lost loved ones to alcohol or substance abuse.
Friendship Train 12-Step Support Group meets from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesdays at Rising Star Baptist Church, 2943 Wardle Ave. People who are trying to overcome any addiction are welcome and encouraged to attend. Those attending should enter through the church’s lower parking lot off Wardle.
NAMI Mahoning Valley offers support groups for those who deal with mental illness.
