Youngstown police disarm pipe bomb

NILES — The Youngstown Police Department Bomb Squad today disarmed a functional pipe bomb at a home on Summerberry Lane. Lt. Doug Bobovnyik, head of the bomb squad, said the bomb was armed with black powder and had a fuse.

Niles police said the situation is under investigation and more information would be available in the coming days.
