Crash near YSU causes gas line rupture

YOUNGSTOWN — A gas line was broken about 12:15 p.m. today after a Youngstown State University Police cruiser crashed into a building at Wood and Walnut streets while chasing a suspect.

The man was wanted for a crime on campus and was caught, a spokesman for YSU police said.

The road was closed down as Dominion East Ohio crews repaired the gas line. There were no injuries.
