Syringes, dope found after Warren police question men in car

WARREN

Residents of the 2300 block of Burton Street Southeast yelled at police because an officer questioned three men in a car parked in the driveway of a Burton Street home Sunday night.

Residents nearby yelled about police being on their property and said police were there “because this is Burton Street.”

The officer said he stopped his cruiser to talk to the men because the driver appeared to be passed out. When he walked up to the car, the driver sat up straight and said he was talking on the phone.

When the officer patted down the driver, he found a syringe in the driver’s pocket and later found other drug paraphernalia and suspected heroin and crack cocaine. Raymond Battaglia, 55, of Shannon Road in Girard, was later charged with possession of drug paraphernia. The suspected drugs will be tested in a lab to determine what they are, police said.

Robert E. Rudolph, 56, of Eagle’s Loft in Cortland also was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after police found a syringe with apparent heroin loaded in it and other drug paraphernalia.
