Ikebana hosts flower show at gardens

Members of Ikebana Youngstown recently hosted their annual flower show in the D.D. Davis Center at Fellows Riverside Gardens at Mill Creek Park. The exhibit featured Japanese flower designs with arrangements from the Ichiyo School. Above, Shoji screens were provided for background for the exhibits. Designs were created by Dana Babik, Sheila Bowman, Kaaren Cabraja, Marilyn Chiu, Joyce Dunbar, Mary Lou Fiere, Cynthia Foust, Marion Franzen, Patricia Gojdics, Ann Hanka, Beverly Italiano, Nancy Kovach, Natalie Majoros, Lauren Mangino, Pearl Marlos, Beverly Patrick, Linda Petras, Lillian Quaranta and Sharon Sweeney. Ikebana Youngstown was founded in 1963 and is a member of the Garden Forum of Greater Youngstown Area Inc. Shirley Winkler of Saxonburg, Pa., a master instructor of the Ichiyo School, is the instructor for the group, which meets the second Tuesday of most months.
