The Adult Career Center at Mahoning County Career and Technical Center, 7300 N. Palmyra Road, will host fall enrollment open house at 6 p.m. Aug. 1.

It is an opportunity for the public to meet the instructors, take a tour and explore career training options.

Industry credential programs that will be presented include culinary and restaurant management, medical office specialist, medical assistant including phlebotomy, pharmacy technician, firefighter and emergency medical technician. Call the Adult Career Center at 330-729-4100 to RSVP to this event.

‘Best of the Valley’

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber of Commerce has released a “Best of the Valley” survey that asks users to pick their favorite Valley businesses in a variety of categories.

The survey, available on the chamber’s website, asks respondents questions such as “Which is the best car dealership?” and “Which is the best catering company?” Users select their answers from a list of chamber member businesses relevant to each category.

The chamber will use the survey to better understand the consumption preferences of Valley residents. The last day for the survey is Aug. 4. The survey can be found at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/bestofthevalley.

Accounting seminar

Youngstown State University’s Williamson College of Business Administration will host the Youngstown Accounting and Auditing Update from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Aug. 11.

The seminar, led by Kurt G. Oestrecher, certified public accountant, will take place in Williamson Hall on campus.

The update will cover new developments in accounting and auditing standards including advice on compliance with professional regulations.

TTM’s 30th birthday

TTM Technologies, the largest printed circuit board supplier in North America, is celebrating its 30th birthday with a company picnic Thursday.

The company also will help raise funds for its Helping Hands Committee, which collects money to assist employees in need.

The third-shift employees’ party will take place at 3 a.m., the first-shift employees’ party is at noon and second-shift employees’ party will take place at 7 p.m. All parties are on the front lawn of TTM Technologies, 12080 DeBartolo Place, Youngstown Commerce Park.
