A summary of recent criminal activity in Hubbard, Liberty and Girard:

HUBBARD

July 12

Criminal damaging: A vehicle in the 500 block of Sunset Drive was found with a broken passenger-side mirror.

Criminal mischief: A West Park Avenue man noticed two small dents in his car’s hood, the result of which was a $300 damage estimate.

July 13

Possible fraud: An official with a West Liberty Street muffler and tire business found out that two credit-card charges used to buy 24 tires likely were fraudulent.

July 14

Arrest: Police were dispatched to the Mahoning County jail to pick up Andrew M. Culver, 27, of Chapel Hill Drive Northwest, Warren, who was wanted on a Hubbard warrant accusing him of failing to appear for arraignment on charges of theft and aggravated menacing.

July 18

Arrest: Officers at the Mahoning County jail took custody of Rodney C. Johnson Jr. of Cohasset Drive, Youngstown. Johnson, 43, was wanted on a Girard Municipal Court warrant charging failure to appear in court.

Incident: Authorities received a call that a Stewart Avenue man may have tried to set fire to the structure with several pizza boxes before arriving to see smoke and burned boxes. A fire department investigator, however, determined the fire was accidental, a police report showed.

LIBERTY

July 13

Child endangering: While responding to a report of a child left alone in a room at a Belmont Avenue motel, officers charged Audreyona M. Ward, 23, of Volney Road, Youngstown, with a misdemeanor count of endangering children. The two youngsters, 1 and 2, had been left unattended for nearly two hours before Ward returned from Youngstown, a report stated.

Counterfeit: A man reportedly passed a fake $10 bill at Rite Aid Pharmacy, 2704 Belmont Ave.

July 14

Arrest: Authorities answered a missing-persons call on Holly Drive, where they took into custody Kayan A. Muhammad, 19, upon discovering Muhammad, of Penhale Avenue, Campbell, was wanted on a Weathersfield Township warrant charging failure to appear in court.

Theft: A Marla Lane woman alleged her former boyfriend, of Lake Milton, refuses to return her dog.

Identity fraud: A Trails Edge Drive woman discovered her credit reports had been accessed 23 times over a recent three-month period without authorization.

Criminal damaging: An employee with a Belmont Avenue restaurant noticed someone had used a key to damage the finish on her vehicle’s passenger side while she was at work. Damage came to about $1,200.

July 15

Drugs: A traffic stop on Belmont Avenue resulted in the arrest of Keelan M. Davis, 21, of Mansell Drive, Liberty, on a felony charge of trafficking in marijuana, as well as a minor-misdemeanor citation charging Khyri M. Davis, 20, same address, with marijuana possession. Two large bags of suspected raw marijuana were found in a backpack, police alleged.

Aggravated menacing: A Euclid Boulevard woman reported a man has left repeated threatening cellphone messages, including a threat to kill her.

Arrest: Boardman police at the Mahoning County jail transferred custody of Jonathan J. Hapcic of Warner Road, Hubbard, to Liberty authorities. Hapcic, 41, was wanted on a township warrant.

July 16

Arrest: Authorities received a call about a car in a ditch off Tibbetts-Wick Road, then charged Timothy R. Fabian, 35, of Perry Highway, Mercer, Pa., with endangering children and operating a vehicle impaired after saying Fabian had a 0.104 blood-alcohol content, which exceeds Ohio’s 0.08 legal intoxication limit. Also, a 12-year-old child was in the vehicle when it went into a culvert, a report showed.

Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A Ventura Drive woman alleged her boyfriend took her 2008 BMW vehicle after an argument.

Domestic violence: John E. Allender, 44, of Monticello Boulevard, Liberty, was charged with the crime after a relative with whom he lives alleged Allender had struck her face, hit the accuser with a plastic bottle, slapped her leg and grabbed her arm. The victim had bruises near her eye and one on her arm, a report said.

July 17

Arrest: Police at the Mahoning County jail picked up Dennis E. Mosley, 22, of West Second Street, Girard. He was wanted on a township warrant charging failure to appear in court.

Theft: A Yvonne Drive man reported a 40-square-foot trailer had been stolen while he was out of town.

Domestic violence: Ross Shamblin, 46, of Tibbetts-Wick Road, Girard, was charged after his estranged wife alleged having awoken to find Shamblin standing over her and, during a tirade, making a series of threats against her. He also broke an oscillating fan, all of which caused the accuser to fear for her safety, a report stated.

Theft: Someone in the 700 block of Colonial Drive removed a push mower from an unlocked shed.

July 18

Weapon: Police responded to a crash with possible injuries in the 1500 block of Tibbetts-Wick Road, where they charged Michael L. Harris, 26, of Logan Avenue, Warren, with improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle, a felony, and operating a vehicle impaired after alleging Harris, whose blood-alcohol content was 0.081, had a loaded revolver in the glove compartment. Also arrested was Eva N. Toth, 18, of Kensington Avenue, Youngstown, who was wanted on a Niles Municipal Court warrant.

GIRARD

July 16

Assault: A worker for a U.S. Route 422 fast-food restaurant told police six or seven people assaulted him outside of the establishment. The victim had a large cut near his right eye.

Criminal mischief: Someone struck a vehicle with eggs in the 200 block of East Wilson Avenue.

July 17

Theft/criminal mischief: A man reported someone had kicked and damaged a rear storm door to his North St. Clair Avenue home and stole a $20 pair of pruning shears.

Harassment: A Gordon Street man said a woman has left 26 unwanted voicemail messages as part of a pattern of harassment.

Trespassing: Gary C. Phillips, 36, of Annabelle Avenue, McDonald, faced a criminal-trespassing charge after an officer reported having seen a man walking in a rear parking lot of a North State Street business around 4:20 a.m. when it was closed.

Criminal mischief: Someone broke a window and damaged the ignition system to a small bulldozer at a construction site on Mill Street, then reportedly ran over a nearby portable commode before striking another bulldozer, which was found tipped on its side.

July 18

Possible trespassing: A maintenance worker with a Harry Street business reported finding a wooden plank that evidently had been positioned in a way to allow someone to gain access over a barbed-wire fence to a secure area on the property.

Identity fraud: A Morris Avenue man learned that someone without authorization had created an account using his name and original account number. Also, a fraudulent $2,300 check was deposited.

Theft by deception: A Powers Avenue woman reported getting a call claiming she was entitled to unclaimed funds and to win a new car before she received notices and calls to send money to get the vehicle. As a result, the victim sent $11,800 to several address, including one in Shreveport, La., but never received the supposed prize, a report showed.

July 19

Criminal damaging: A Church Hill Road woman reported another woman was beating on her apartment door, which damaged the lock.

Arrest: Officers charged David S. Diiullo of East Howard Street, Girard, with obstructing official business and disorderly conduct after saying Diiullo, 53, twice yelled profanities at a driver police had pulled over near Route 422. Diiullo apparently was angered that the driver had almost struck his vehicle, a report said.

Trespassing: A North St. Clair Avenue man said a juvenile has been knocking on his door and running away.
