YOUNGSTOWN

The Great Lakes Regional Convention of Organists met in Youngstown from July 2 through 5.

Many local concert venues displayed their instruments and the buildings that house them, including Stambaugh and Powers auditoriums, Bliss Hall, The Butler Museum of American Art, St. Columba Cathedral and Trinity United Methodist, Christ Episcopal, St. Christine and St. John Episcopal churches.

Well-known local and national organists performed for the convention’s concerts and workshops.

Adam Zagotti, a representative of the American Guild of Organists, spoke to members of the Austintown Rotary Club and expressed thanks to the local arts community for underwriting and providing donations that made the event possible in Youngstown for the first time since 1926.
