Police are investigating four shootings over the weekend that injured five people. No arrests have been made.
A city man, 20, was treated at St. Joseph Warren Hospital for a gunshot injury he suffered at the Powerhouse Bar, 999 Mahoning Ave., at 11:56 p.m. Sunday.
Police found blood in the parking lot and in the entrance to the bar and found bullet casings in the parking lot.
The police then went to the hospital and spoke to the victim after they were advised he was there. He had a “possible internal injury,” according to a police report.
A Niles teen, 17, suffered a “major injury” after being shot in the 2200 block of Burton Street Southeast at 8:45 p.m. Sunday.
When police arrived, they spoke with the victim, who had been shot in the foot. He said he was walking on Rogers Avenue Southeast when a small green vehicle pulled up and someone inside fired shots at him, he said.
The injuries, which were treated at Trumbull Memorial Hospital, were not life-threatening, police said.
A city woman, 27, and a city man, 21, were both injured by gunfire at 5:29 p.m. Friday at First Street and Highland Avenue Southwest. Both were treated at St. Joseph.
When police arrived, both were lying on the driveway of a home on First Street, one shot in the left leg, the other in the right leg.
The male said he had just picked up the female at a house on Maple Street Southwest and turned onto First Street when a sport utility vehicle drove toward him, and the driver fired into the victims’ vehicle, hitting them.
Police recovered eight shell casings.
Also, at 2:45 a.m. Friday, a city man, 18, was shot in the leg and treated at St. Joseph.
The man said he was hit while walking. He said he didn’t know the street but it was in the southeast part of the city.
