Easter Seals of Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana Counties will host the 12th annual auction at Margaritaville from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday at St. Michael Life Center, 252 N. Broad St., Canfield. BOOK SALES

Central Christian Church will host a book sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at 2051 E. Market St., Warren. It will also include a bake sale and basket raffles. Categories are: suspense, thriller, mystery, science fiction, fantasy, horror, children’s, romance, classic, medical, self-help and animals. Soft covers will cost 50 cents, and hardcovers wll be $1. Rodman Public Library in Alliance will host the Friends of Rodman Public Library used book sale July 30 through Aug. 3. There will be software, records, CDs, children’s books and materials, magazines and books for adults. Sale is set for 2 to 5 p.m. July 30 for members of the Friends of the Library. Single membership is $5, family membership is $10 and patron memberships are $25. All memberships may be purchased at the door. Sale opens to the public from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 1 and 2 and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 3. The Aug. 3 sale from 5 to 8 p.m. will be for members only (bring membership card). FAIRS, FESTIVALS

Niles Historical Society will host its Heritage Day from noon to 5 p.m. Aug. 5 on the grounds at 503 Brown St. There will be local artisans, crafters, vendors, children’s crafts, food and tours of the Ward Thomas House.

Youngstown American Hungarian Federation will host its annual Hungarian Day Festival from 1 to 5 p.m. Aug. 6. Advance dinner tickets for chicken paprikash are required by July 30. FUNDRAISERS

Columbiana County will host its 3rd annual Veterans Poker Run Saturday, rain or shine, at the Salem Club, 542 S. Broadway Ave. Breakfast for $6 per person from 8 to 11 a.m. will begin the day, with sign-ups to begin at 9 a.m. and first bike out at 11 a.m. Singles are $15, and doubles are $25. Auctions, raffles and entertainment will take place, and dinner will follow the run. The Chocolate Chik and Expressions of You will host a golf outing at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Mahoning Country Club, 710 E. Liberty St., Girard. Cost is $75 per person or $300 for a team of four which includes green fees, cart, food, drink and 18 holes of golf. Skins are $5 each, and prizes for closest to the hole will be given. There also will be raffles and gifts for all participants. Proceeds will be donated to Fight Like a Girl Foundation, for children that have one year or less to live. Hubbard Public Library will be accepting donations of school supplies from next Monday to Aug. 12 for students who would not be able to afford the supplies necessary for back-to-school. All patrons who donate will have any accrued fines on their Hubbard library account waived. Relay for Life Team of Blessed Sacrament Parish, 3020 Reeves Road NE, Warren, will host Kids’ Kupboard, a resale event featuring kids items from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the parish’s Covelli Gymnasium. St. Luke Holy Name Society is planning its ninth annual golf outing for 1 p.m. Saturday at Bedford Trails Golf Course. All proceeds will be used to replace or repair facility equipment. St. Nicholas School will participate in a shoe collection fundraiser now through Oct. 1. Rubber band gently used shoes in pairs. The goal is to collect 2500 pairs and boxes to donate are located at St. Nicholas and Holy Trinity Church doors.

Sight for All United will host the 2nd Eye Ball of the Mahoning Valley to take place from 5 to 10:30 p.m. Sept. 30 at Powers Auditorium. Scott MacIntyre, a finalist from American Idol, will be the special guest. MacIntyre has been blind from birth, but has never stopped dreaming or working towards his goals. Donor packages for the event are: $10,000, $5,000, $2,500, and $1,000. Live and silent auction items also are needed. Sponsorship forms must be received by Sept. 1 for recognition in media and advertising. All the proceeds from this event will fund the mission of Providing Sight for All. SHOWS

St. Philip Catholic Church, 401 S. Mercer St., Linesville, Pa., will host an Artifact & Relic Show in the social hall from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Aug. 5. The show, presented by the French Creek Archaeological Society, asks for a $3 donation for admittance. Children 12 and under are free. There will be a variety of displays and items for sale, including Indian artifacts, fossils, minerals, historical items, books, display cases, flint knapping supplies, atalatis and spears. The New Wilmington Mission Conference will host its 112th annual conference from Saturday through July 29 at Westminster College. With more than 800 attendees from more than 30 states and 20 countries, the conference will gather missionaries and leaders from the global church. The speaker for the morning meetings this year is Dr. Rodger Nishioka, director of adult education ministries at Village Presbyterian Church in Prairie Village, KS. The Mahoning Valley Historical Society is hosting a summer camp at the Tyler Mahoning Valley History Center, 325 W. Federal St. The camp is scheduled for July 24 to 28 and is designed for young historians age 12 to 15. The campers will dive a bit deeper into local history as they learn what it’s like to be a real historian. They will complete a special project, a website, a video or an exhibit about a local history topic. Both camps run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
