Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Sweder mark 50 years
STRUTHERS
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Sweder celebrated their 50th anniversary May 21 with dinner at Caffe Capri Italian Bar & Grille in Boardman. The event was hosted by their children.
Mr. Sweder and the former Mary Ann Terlesky were married May 20, 1967, at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church, Youngstown.
The Sweder’s children are Jeff (Christie) Sweder of Poland and Michael (Nikki) Sweder of Hilliard. They also have four grandchildren: Ryan, Jason and Evan Sweder of Poland; and Riley Sweder of Hilliard.
Mrs. Sweder was a secretary for Erie Lackawanna Railroad in Youngstown and is a member of the Public Employee Retirees Mahoning County Chapter 18.
Mr. Sweder was the assistant vice president with Dollar Savings and Trust Co. for 45 years until retiring in 1997. He also was employed as treasurer for the city of Struthers for 28 years until he retired in 2005. He also served in the U.S. Army for two years in Germany. Mr. Sweder is a past treasurer with Dollar Bank Retirees, past president of Struthers Business Association and the Ohio Association of Public Treasurers. He is a current member of Public Employee Retirees Mahoning County Chapter 18.
The couple are members of Christ Our Savior Parish, formerly St. Nicholas Church, Struthers.
