The Poland Lions Club hosted its third annual Treasures of the Trunk sale at Poland Seminary High School on June 10.
There was enough room for 100 vendors and this year more than 60 vendors set out tables and tents with items from crafts to foods to garage sale items. Each year the sale continues to grow and become more of a success.
“We sure hope we can keep building on it,” said Judy Young, coordinator of the sale.
Aside from the vendors, the Lions Club had a table full of raffle baskets. There were more than 30 prizes that were available to win in the raffle baskets. The basket raffles were a way for the Lions Club to raise additional money.
As the rain stopped and the sun came out, there were several customers who came to shop.
Proceeds raised from the event go back toward the community and to the Poland Lions Scholarship. The scholarship is something that a Poland Seminary High School student receives at the end of the year. The Poland Lions Club hosts several programs throughout the year for the youth, such as eye exams. The club not only helps the youth, but anyone who is in need in the community.
“I’d love to see this make a lot of money,” said Young.
The Treasures of the Trunk sale takes place on the second Saturday of June, and next year it will be on June 9.
The Lions Club is always accepting new members and people who wish to join can visit the Poland Lions Club Facebook or http://e-clubhouse.org/sites/polandohio/.
