ATHLETIC GROUPS

McDonald Sideliners will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the high school. Anyone interested in becoming a member is welcome.

CLASSES

Rayen School Class of 1959 will meet for its monthly luncheon at noon Wednesday at Cassese’s MVR, 410 N. Walnut St., Youngstown. All classmates, spouses and guests are welcome. The group meets the third Wednesday of each month.

SOCIETIES

Struthers Historical Society, 50 Terrace St., will meet at noon on Aug. 6. Plans for the second Alexander Frankfort Day on Sept. 30 will be discussed. After the meeting, a presentation of “Iron Valley The Transformation of the Iron Industry in Ohio’s Mahoning Valley, 1802-1913,” will be shown at the Trumbull County Historical Society, 303 Monroe St. NW, Warren. Members who would like to see the presentation are planning to carpool. All members are welcome.

William Holmes McGuffey Historical Society will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday at Kravitz’s Deli, 3135 Belmont Ave., Liberty. James McClellan, the Youngstown Playhouse operations manager and veteran actor and singer, will sing and share about his career as a Mahoning Valley musical performer.

SUPPORT GROUPS

Codependency and Grief Group will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Chapel of the Sheepfold Ministries. A meeting will also take place at 7 p.m. at the Care Center of Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home on N. Main St., Hubbard. Friendship Train 12-Step Support Group meets from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesdays at Rising Star Baptist Church, 2943 Wardle Ave. People who are trying to overcome any addiction are welcome and encouraged to attend. Those attending should enter through the church’s lower parking lot off Wardle.

NAMI Mahoning Valley offers support groups for those who deal with mental illness.
