Five women jailed after Youngstown vice crackdown

YOUNGSTOWN

Five women Wednesday were charged with soliciting after a crackdown on prostitution in the Hillman Avenue corridor by the police department's vice squad and the Community Police Unit.

Also arrested was a man who tried to pick a prostitute up, according to reports.

The women were arrested between 9:30 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. Four of them were arrested after an undercover was flagged down and recorded conversations with them negotiating prices for sexual activity.

According to reports, all five women were booked into the Mahoning County jail. The man who was arrested was issued a citation with a court date of today.
