Chamber receives $100,000 for mentorship program in Austintown schools

YOUNGSTOWN

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber received $100,000 from the Ohio Department of Education to implement its Community Connectors school mentorship program in the Austintown Local School District.

The program helps prepare juniors and seniors for the workforce by providing mentorship and internship opportunities within the local business community.

The chamber was denied grants for the existing Community Connectors programs in Youngstown and Warren City Schools. The ODE suggested the programs should become self-sustaining.
