No one injured in West Side apartment complex shootout

YOUNGSTOWN — Police say three apartments and two cars were damaged by gunfire early today at a West Side apartment complex but no one was injured.

Officers were called about 3:40 a.m. to the 2500 block of Tyrell Avenue for a report of two groups of people exchanging gunfire and when they got they found the damage, reports said.

Police collected a total of 11 spent shell casings, four from a 9mm handgun and seven from a .40-caliber handgun, reports said.

Reports said this is the second time in three weeks that the apartment building has been damaged by gunfire and it was also damaged by gunfire in January.
