WARREN

Warren police are investigating the cause of death of an executive of a drug-recovery center who was found dead in his room in a Warren motel over the weekend.

Dead is Braking Point Recovery Center Director Tom Dailey, who was reportedly open about being a recovering addict.

His body was found at Warren’s Econo Lodge Inn & Suites on Youngstown Road S.E. at about 11:50 a.m. Saturday.

Before working for Braking Point, Dailey was co-owner of First Step Recovery, an alcohol and drug detox center in Warren.

Newspaper calls to the police department for information surrounding Dailey’s death were not returned.

The recovery center’s owner, Ryan Sheridan, said he was shocked to hear of his colleague’s passing. “I don’t have a lot of information about it, but I will say Tom was a great friend and colleague of mine who touched many lives in our community,” Sheridan said to 21 WFMJ-TV, The Vindicator’s broadcast partner.

Dailey’s body was found by a housekeeper at the motel, according to the Trumbull County 911 Center.

Sheridan said Dailey’s family asks for privacy as they grieve the loss of his life.

Others in the community are also stunned by his death.

“I knew him. It’s very, very tragic,” April Carraway, executive director of the Trumbull County Mental Health and Recovery Board, said of Dailey’s death.

“Our hearts go out to his family, friends and colleagues,” she said.

Braking Point Recovery Center operates an addiction treatment facility at 45 N. Canfield-Niles Road in Austintown.

Dailey’s address is listed on the 911 Center log as East Powell Road, Lewis Center, Ohio.
