The Mahoning Valley Scrappers are hoping Cleveland Indians pitcher Danny Salazar will give them a boost on Tuesday after the team was swept by the Williamsport Crosscutters (11-9).

Salazar will make a rehab appearance on Tuesday when the Scrappers (10-10) take on the Brooklyn Cyclones at Eastwood Field. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.

Salazar, a 2016 All Star, was moved to the bullpen in May before later being added to the disabled list with shoulder issues.

Sunday, the Scrappers’ ninth-inning rally fell short in an 8-7 loss. Gregori Vasquez (0-1) took the loss after the Scrappers squandered a 3-0 first-inning lead. Vazquez didn’t survive the Crosscutters’ three-run third at-bat.

Ulysses Cantu and Jesse Berardi sparked the Scrappers’ offense with two RBIs apiece. Berardi had three hits and Samad Taylor scored three times. Taylor hit a homer in the eighth inning.

For Williamsport, Austin Listi drove in three runs.

Tickets for Tuesday’ game are available by calling the Scrappers at 330-505-0000, or by visiting the Mr. Rooter Box Office at Eastwood Field or online at www.mvscrappers.com.
