Rich Center brings acclaimed researcher to YSU conference

Brenda Myles has been honored as one of America’s leading autism experts, and she will conduct a conference July 28 in Youngstown.
“Transitions in Autism: From Preschool to Adulthood” is a one-day conference presented by The Rich Center for Autism from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Youngstown State University’s Kilcawley Center.
The conference will feature clinically-trained professionals, parents and autism-support providers who will present current research about autism and the newest and most innovative theories in education.
Myles, a consultant with the Ohio Center for Autism and Low Incidence and the Ziggurat Group, was acknowledged by the University of Texas as the second-most productive applied researcher in ASD in the world.
She is a recipient of the Autism Society of America’s Outstanding Professional Award, the Princeton Fellowship Award, The Global and Regional Asperger Syndrome Divine Neurotypical Award, an American Academy of Pediatrics Autism Champion and a two-time recipient of the Council for Exceptional Children Division on Developmental Disabilities Burton Blatt Humanitarian Award.
Parents, educators, professionals, students and adults with a disability are encouraged to attend. The cost is $50 for a parent and $75 for educators and professionals. Students and adults with disabilities are welcome to attend at no cost.
