Seminar on accessing home readiness

YOUNGSTOWN

The Youngstown Metropolitan Housing Authority will have an “Accessing Home Readiness” seminar from 10 a.m. to noon and 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 8. The seminar is a part of the authority’s Financial Fitness Workshops that run through December.

All workshops take place at the authority’s building, 131 W. Boardman St. The workshops are free, but registration is required at least one day before the scheduled workshop. Call 330-744-2161, ext. 251, to register.

Tickets are on sale for OH WOW! The Roger & Gloria Jones Children’s Center for Science & Technology Science of Brewing event scheduled for Aug. 11 at the center, 11 W. Federal St.

The annual 21-plus event will feature food and drinks from Avalon Downtown; Birdfish Brewing Co.; Christopher’s at the End of the Tunnel; Fat Head’s Brewery; Jackie O’s Brewery; Luva Bella Winery; Platform Beer Co.; V2 Wine Bar Trattoria; Vintage Estate Wine & Beer; Woodland Cellars; and Youngstown Vodka

The event also will have MAKE! workshops, Howard & The Point 5 Band, a silent auction, a basket raffle and a cash bar.

The cost is $60 per person or $300 for a pack of six tickets.

Windsor House Inc., a provider of assisted living and health care services since 1959, recently launched its new branding campaign titled “The Mission of Windsor.”

The new campaign consisting of television, radio and online content creative focuses on enhancing awareness of the brand as a leader in long-term health care in the Mahoning Valley.

The company challenged 898 Marketing, a Canfield-based marketing firm, and its video production division, TV Eye Productions, to concept, develop and produce a campaign that used the most valuable asset Windsor House has: the people who make up the company and residents who call its facilities “home.” For information, call 330-744-5914.
