ASSOCIATIONS

Mill Creek Chapter of American Business Women’s Association will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Georgeanna Parker Center in Boardman Park for dinner and a meeting. The Tri-Gold Prime Time Chapter of American Business Women’s Association will install officers for the coming year when the group meets Wednesday at 6 p.m. at A La Cart Restaurant in Canfield. The social meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. Karen Barr from Meals on Wheels will be the guest speaker. SOCIETIES

Mercer County Historical Society summer hours are from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Beringer/Caldwell One-Room School House, 2159 Mercer Road, the Raisch Log Cabin, 285 East High St., Sharpsville, and the Rural Life Museum at 98 Avalon Court, Mercer, on Sundays through Labor Day. It will be closed on holidays. There will be the regular hours at the Anderson/Magoffin Complex in Mercer Borough, 119 South Pitt St., from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Fridays and from 10 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturdays. The facility will be closed Sundays, Mondays and holidays. All sites are free to the public. They are available for tours and at the Anderson/Magoffin Complex, and are open for genealogical research.

Springfield Township Historical Society will host Belinda Varias from the Arms Museum on Tuesday as she presents the Commander Perry story at 7 p.m. at the Meeting House, 14118 Yo-Pitts Rd., Petersburg, three buildings south of Knesal Hardware.

William Holmes McGuffey Historical Society will meet at 10 a.m. July 15 at Kravitz’s Deli, 3135 Belmont Ave. Guest speaker, James McClellan, will begin this half of the year’s “Memories of a Lifetime” program. McClellan is the Youngstown Playhouse Operations Manager, veteran actor and singer and will share memories of his career. Cost is $5, and reservations are suggested to 330-726-8277.

SUPPORT GROUPS

Codependency and Grief Recovery Support Group will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Chapel of Sheepfold Ministries, 233 N. Irvine Ave., Sharon, Pa. The group also will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Care Center of Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home, 709 N. Main St., Hubbard. The group’s focus is to help families who have lost loved ones to alcohol or drug abuse. Sessions are free, and registration is required. Free parking is available. Friendship Train 12-Step Support Group meets from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesdays at Rising Star Baptist Church, 2943 Wardle Ave. People who are trying to overcome any addiction are welcome and encouraged to attend. Those attending should enter through the church’s lower parking lot off Wardle.

NAMI Mahoning Valley offers support groups for those who deal with mental illness. Support groups meet as follows: Girard Family Support, first Thursday of each month at 11 a.m. at the Girard Library, 105 E. Prospect St., and Austintown Family Support Group, 7 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month at Alta Care, 142 Javit Court. NAMI Connection, a support group for people with a mental-health diagnosis meets at the following locations: 1:30 p.m. Thursdays at the Community Center, 1344 Fifth Ave., Youngstown; 6 p.m. the second and fourth Thursdays at Alta Care in Austintown; and 6 p.m. the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month. Youngstown Area Ostomy Support Group will meet from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Humility House, 755 Ohltown Road, Austintown. The group provides a safe, caring place to tell your story among people who understand and share your experiences and feelings. Family members and people considering an ostomy are also welcome. The ostomy group offers oducation, encouragement and support to anyone whose life is affected by an ostomy. Parking is free, and light refreshments will be available.

VETERANS

VFW Triangle Post 2799 Ladies’ Auxiliary will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the post home, 3161 E. South Range Road, New Springfield. A spaghetti dinner is sponsored by the auxiliary from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday at the post home. Adults, $7, and children under 12, $3.50.
