Former Campbell mayor sentenced to nearly five years in prison

CLEVELAND — Former Campbell Mayor George Krinos was sentenced to 57 months in prison and ordered to pay $1.2 million in restitution to those he defrauded.

The ruling was issued by Judge Dan Aaron Polster in federal court this afternoon.

Krinos, 39, served as mayor of Campbell from December 2009 to January 2011.

In January, Krinos pleaded guilty to a single count of securities fraud and a count of willful failure to collect or pay over tax after defrauding more than 10 investors out of nearly $1.2 million between 2011 and 2014.
