A woman is being held without bond in the Trumbull County jail after police said she provided cocaine to her 16-year-old nephew who overdosed Friday, The Vindicator’s broadcast partner, 21 WFMJ-TV, reports.

Heather Cope, 35, of Warren faces a felony charge of corrupting another with drugs. She will be arraigned in Warren Municipal Court.

$1M bond for teen

WARREN

A judge set bond at $1 million Monday for a Warren man facing seven counts of rape.

Dominique Seem, 18, of Warren was arraigned Monday in Warren Municipal Court. He is accused of inappropriate sexual conduct with four children under age 13.

Church takes orders for King Foods

NILES

New Hope United Methodist Church, 21 Fairview Ave., is accepting orders for King Foods at the church with cash, check, money order or EBT card from 11 a.m. to noon July 17.

Orders also will be taken at Niles Community Services from 1:30 to 2:!5 p.m. July 17. Prices range from $28 to $44. There are no income restrictions or guidelines. Mail orders will be accepted with payment by Sunday. Send payment to New Hope UM Church, 21 Fairview Ave., Niles, OH 44446, made out to New Hope UM Church.

To receive a receipt, enclose a self-addressed and stamped envelope. Online credit-card orders will be taken until 10 a.m. July 19. The online address is www.kingfoods.org. Distribution will be from 8 to 9 a.m. July 29. There will be a free community breakfast from 9 to 9:30 a.m., and the clothing room will be open.

Splash pad closed in Mill Creek Park

The wet playground located in the James L. Wick Jr. Recreation Area in Mill Creek Park will be closed this week due to a water main break, the MetroParks announced. The repairs are expected to be completed this weekend.

Sobriety checks

CANFIELD

The Mahoning County Operating a Vehicle Impaired Task Force will be conducting multiple sobriety checkpoints this coming weekend. Details will be released later in the week.

There also will be local saturation patrols throughout Mahoning County this week and the weekend, the task force said.

Road to be closed

BROOKFIELD

Hubbard Masury Road will be closed at the railroad tracks at Eddie Kane Steel Products, 1400 Standard Ave., for railroad repairs effective from 8 a.m. Thursday until 5 p.m. Friday.

The recommended detour route is south on Hubbard Masury, west on Chestnut Ridge Road and northeast on U.S. Route 62.
