New bar group president installed

Members of the Mahoning County Bar Association installed Atty. Tracie L. Schmidt as association president for the coming year and elected Atty. Gregg A. Rossi as the president-elect.He will become president a year from now.

The annual election banquet was last week at Youngstown Country Club.

Atty. Eric C. Johnson received the distinguished service award, which is given to a judge or lawyer who has provided exemplary service to the association or the community at large.

Recognized for 50 years as lawyers were: Jeffrey Fleck, Michael A. Gallo, James L. Messenger and Jay Skolnick.

Honored for 55 years as attorneys were: Dennis Haines, Richard P. McLaughlin and James L. Pazol.

Honored for 60 years as attorneys were: Ronald Galip and Donald J. Varner.

Commended for 65 years in the profession were: Attys. Martin Goldberg, Daniel L. Rossi and Jerry Stephens.

Trustees elected to three-year terms were: Attys. Ross T. Smith, Robert W. Price and Frank Cassese.

Atty. Nicholas P. Sebastiano was elected to a two-year term as a trustee.

Elected secretary-treasurer for a three-year term was Atty. Jamie B. Dietz.

Atty. Molly Johnson, president of the Mahoning County Bar Association Foundation, announced 12 scholarship awards, totaling $17,500 to those pursuing legal studies.
