Foundation donates to Ursuline High

Ursuline High School received a $20,000 donation from the Home Savings Charitable Foundation on June 29. The donation will be used for the cafeteria lighting upgrades.
Computers and sun catchers at library
LISBON
Lepper Library, 303 E. Lincoln Way, will have one-on-one basic computer help anytime between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Monday. Also, Thursday is adult craft night. Starting at 6 p,m, the project will be sun catchers. Call 330-424-3117 to register for both events.
Antiques Appraisal Fair set for Saturday
NEW CASTLE, PA.
Lawrence County Historical Society, 408 N. Jefferson St. will have its annual Antiques Appraisal Fair on Saturday, from noon to 4 p.m. in the Medure Annex Building. Professional experts will be on hand to appraise anything from stamps to pieces of furniture.
Photos of large items can be brought in for evaluation. A complete list of categories may be viewed on the historical society’s website at www.lawrencechs.org/antiques.
The cost is $5 for two items and $10 for up to five items. Refreshments and tours will be available for those having appraisals. For information, call 724-658-4022.
Muckridge appointed CEO of Rescue Mission
YOUNGSTOWN
The Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley Board of Directors announced the appointment of John Muckridge III as the new president/CEO of Mahoning County’s only homeless shelter, the Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley.
Muckridge came to the Rescue Mission as a volunteer in 2011 teaching and tutoring clients in the mission’s learning center. His roles with the mission increased as he became the director of education in 2013, the director of client services in 2014 and then was promoted to deputy director in 2015.
Girls Scouts awarded highest honor
MACEDONIA
Girl Scouts of Northeast Ohio recently presented 60 Girl Scouts with the Gold Award at the John S. Knight Center in Akron. The Gold Award is the highest award a scout senior or ambassador may earn. Scouts completed individual projects which included a music mentorship program, STEM programs for underprivileged youth, a published book about sensory processing issues and more. Scouts from our region to receive the award are Robin Forsha of Burghill; Bethany Double and Rachel Swym, both of Farmdale; Amanda Grexa of Masury; and Abigail Downing and Caroline Fox, both of Warren.
