Valley native’s film gets local premiere

NILES

The Mahoning Valley premiere of “Heels,” a film made by Howland native Ryan Bottiglieri, will take place at 7 p.m. today at Encore Cinema. Tickets are $10 at NilesEncore.com and at the box office. The 89-minute film is not rated.

“Heels” tells the story of adopted brothers Jody (played by Bottiglieri) and Ronnie (Britt George of “Tyler Perry’s Too Close to Home”) who become wrestlers to save their dad’s business. The comedy also stars Richard Riehle (“Office Space”) as their father.

“Heels” won Best Picture at the Hollywood Boulevard Film Festival.

Bottiglieri, a Howland High School graduate now based in Los Angeles, starred in the 2001 film “Waxing Gibbous,” shot in Warren. He wrote, directed and produced ‘Heels.”
