Purchase tickets for 25 Under 35 event

Tickets are on sale for the 25 Under 35 Awards Dinner that will take place at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 9 at Stambaugh Auditorium, 1000 Fifth Ave.
The Mahoning Valley Young Professionals, in partnership with the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley, sponsor this annual awards dinner that honors the Mahoning Valley’s best and brightest young professionals.
The 25 honorees will receive awards, and three honorees will be distinguished for special accolades as MVP Award winners. Both the 25 honorees and top three are selected by a small committee based upon professional, educational and community service categories.
This year, a 5:30 p.m. cocktail hour will kick off the event. Dinner will start at 6 p.m. The awards program honoring the 25 will begin at 7 p.m. with a dessert reception to meet the honorees immediately following at 8:30.

Armstrong partners for Healing Heroes
NORTH LIMA
Armstrong Cable Services has a new service project underway with Healing Heroes, a partnership program with Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs to provide a highly trained service dog to qualifying disabled veterans struggling with disabilities such as post-traumatic stress disorder.
Armstrong’s Healing Heroes has two goals in 2017: Raise enough funds to donate at least five service dogs to qualifying disabled veterans within the communities the company serves and raise awareness of veterans’ needs.
Armstrong will be matching the funds donated to reach its goal.
Donations in support of Healing Heroes can be made at your local Armstrong office at 9328 Woodworth Road. Donations also can be mailed to: Armstrong c/o Healing Heroes, 1 Armstrong Place, Butler, PA 16001.
All checks should be made payable to Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs Inc. Online donations also will be accepted at medicalservicedogs.org. Select the donate tab and choose Armstrong as the designation.
GM announces plans for fuel-cell system
DETROIT
General Motors Co. on Monday announced the establishment of the auto industry’s first manufacturing joint venture to mass produce an advanced hydrogen fuel-cell system that will be used in future products from each company.
Fuel Cell System Manufacturing LLC will operate within GM’s existing battery pack manufacturing facility site in Brownstown, Mich., south of Detroit.
Mass production of fuel cell systems is expected to begin in 2020 and create nearly 100 new jobs.
The companies are making equal investments totaling $85 million in the joint venture.
