AT&T upgrades

YOUNGSTOWN

AT&T said Friday it has upgraded its wireless network within Mahoning and Trumbull counties more than 130 times during 2016. The upgrades added greater capacity and speeds to cell towers within these counties. Across Ohio in 2016, the company made more than 1,900 upgrades to its wireless network.

These upgrades include more than 70 added layers of radio frequency spectrum. AT&T also expanded the number of radio frequencies used on more than 60 local towers. That increases speeds for people using these towers.

AT&T invested nearly $1.5 billion in Ohio wireless and wired networks during 2013-15. From 2011-15, AT&T invested more in the U.S. than any other public company.
