POLICE CALLS

A summary of recent criminal activity in Hubbard, Liberty and Girard:

HUBBARD

Jan. 18

Arrest: A traffic stop on North Main Street resulted in misdemeanor charges of drug possession, falsification and driving under suspension against Dyonte M. Hayes-Flynn of Darr Avenue, Farrell, Pa., after police alleged he had provided a false name and date of birth. Hayes-Flynn also had two 50 mg over-the-counter pills, a report showed.

Jan. 19

Arrest: Officers were called to remove an unwanted person at a Colony Drive residence, where they took into custody Zachary M. Lyons, 19, of Third Street, Hubbard, on a disorderly-conduct charge. Lyons continued to yell and swear at two people, despite having been asked to desist, police said.

Assault: An official with Hubbard Middle School, 250 Hall Ave., reported a fight between two students, in which one was reportedly assaulted after school hours.

Theft: A water tank and meter as well as copper piping were stolen after a tenant had moved from the rental unit in the 10 block of Collier Court. The loss came to $760.

Jan. 22

Citations: Authorities were dispatched to the 200 block of West Liberty Street regarding a possibly intoxicated person before issuing minor-misdemeanor citations to Matthew E. Rood II and Anthony G. Walls, both 34 and of Hager Street, Hubbard, charging disorderly conduct while intoxicated.

LIBERTY

Jan. 20

Arrest: A traffic stop near Colonial Drive led to the arrest of Michael K. Pearson, 19, on a charge of operating a vehicle impaired. Pearson, of Lexington Avenue, Youngstown, had a 0.083 blood-alcohol content, which slightly exceeds Ohio’s 0.08 legal intoxication limit, a report said.

Identity theft: A Tibbetts-Wick Road woman reported someone without permission had used her personal information to obtain $1,195 worth of services from a satellite-TV company.

Arrests: Authorities answered a call about a male possibly with a knife at a Holly Drive apartment, where they charged Ollie L. Myles, 28, of North Gate Drive, Liberty, with violating a protection order and obstructing official business, as well as Cyganna Raimey, 27, of Holly Street, Girard, with obstructing official business. Myles was found hiding in the apartment after Raimey had denied he was there, police said.

Fraud: A Hadley Avenue woman whose husband had seen a vehicle for sale told police she sent $2,500 on prepaid debit cards via eBay before realizing the sale was fraudulent.

Menacing: A Church Hill Road woman alleged her former boyfriend, of Youngstown, has continually stalked her and, on one occasion, grabbed the accuser’s vehicle’s door, preventing her from leaving a Belmont Avenue gas station.

Burglary: To a second-floor apartment in the 3000 block of Green Acres Drive, from which two TVs, four paintings and a scooter were taken.

Jan. 21

Arrest: Youngstown police in the 2700 block of Belmont Avenue handed to township authorities Keiondre W. Black, 22, of Lexington Avenue, Youngstown. He was wanted on a warrant charging theft.

Arrest: After responding to a two-car crash near Belmont and Trumbull avenues, officers charged James A. Carter, 44, with operating a vehicle impaired. The Pittsburgh man had a 0.192 blood-alcohol content, a report stated.

Jan. 22

Arrest: Police pulled over a car on an Interstate 80 onramp, then charged Danielle Lopuchovsky, 26, of Stewart Avenue, Hubbard, with operating a vehicle impaired. Lopuchovsky refused to submit to a breath-analysis test, authorities said.

Theft: A Wheatland, Pa., woman discovered an electronic tablet, two cellphones, a smartphone and a piece of jewelry missing after having rented a room at a residence in the 3700 block of Logan Way.

Identity fraud: An East Montrose Street man learned that someone without authorization had gained access to his credit-card account and bought $2,800 worth of goods.

Felonious assault: After responding to a possible auto theft at a Belmont Avenue business, police spoke with a Hubbard woman who alleged that during an argument with her boyfriend as she drove, he repeatedly punched her face and grabbed her hair, then forced his way into the driver’s seat and drove as the accuser held onto the door, dragging her. The woman’s injuries included a bloody right knee, a large bruise to her forehead and several large bumps on her head.

Jan. 23

Drugs: Kathryn M. Unick, 27, of Meadowbrook Avenue, Boardman, was charged with drug abuse as well as possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia after having been pulled over near Belmont Avenue. Found was a bag containing a white powder Unick admitted was suspected heroin, along with a cut straw and a razor blade, both of which were for drug use, a report showed.

Arrest: After having been pulled over in the 3500 block of Belmont Avenue, Clarence Shaffer, 40, of Steel Street, Youngstown, was taken into custody on several Mahoning County felony warrants.

Identity fraud: An East Liberty Street man told officers he again received in the mail a prepaid credit card from an Austin, Texas, company, which was addressed to another person.

Jan. 24

Breaking and entering: Someone kicked open a rear door and entered a vacant home in the 2400 block of Barth Drive.

Incident: A Hubbard woman reported a man had spit in her face and yelled profanities at her after saying she had taken his parking space at a Goldie Road big-box store.

Identity theft: A Tanglewood Drive woman discovered an unauthorized debit-card transaction had been made to her checking account from a township gas station.

Arrest: Police were dispatched to the Mahoning County jail to pick up Robert D. Saunders of West LaClede Avenue, Youngstown. Saunders, 28, was accused of failing to appear for a violation-of-probation hearing on charges of domestic violence and criminal mischief.

GIRARD

Jan. 22

Arrest: Police responded to a report of a motorist swerving on U.S. Route 422 before charging Alexys M. Dean, 18, of Highland Drive, Hubbard, with operating a vehicle impaired.

Theft: Someone entered a car in the 20 block of Townsend Avenue and removed a debit card and a wallet.

Theft: A Smithsonian Street woman noticed a driver’s license and about $3 missing from her vehicle.

Jan. 24

Identity fraud: A Tod Avenue man found out his personal information had been used without consent to open a credit-card account, resulting in a $750 fraudulent charge that originated in White Lake, Mich.

Overdose: Authorities were dispatched to the 1100 block of Washington Avenue for a possible drug overdose, where they reported having found an unresponsive man on a bedroom floor. The man was given Narcan to reverse the effects of opioid use before coming to and being taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital, a report showed.
