Kindergarden registration scheduled for Poland schools

« Poland Neighbors

Registration for children entering Poland Local Schools Kindergarden this fall will take place on two consecutive Saturdays - March 4 and March 11.

Children presently enrolled in the Union Kindergarden do not re-register for first grade.

All Kindergarden registrations will take place at Union Elementary School, located at 30 Riverside Drive. Registration will be from 9 a.m. until noon on both Saturdays. You will be able to register your children for the Preschool and Afterschool Care Programs that take place at North Elementary on these dates. New students entering Poland Schools next fall, in grades 1-4, may register at this time also. It is not necessary to bring your child or siblings to the registration process.

Parents or guardians must provide the following information, and it is essential to bring originals. It is imperative that you bring these items at the time of registration; you cannot register without them. Bring the child’s original, raised seal birth certificate and Social Security card, the child’s immunization records, proof of residency (mortgage documents, house closing papers or rental agreement), parent identification (drivers license and two current utility bills or credit card statements) and, if applicable, custody papers. Be advised that no registration papers will be given out before March 4.

A child entering Kindergarden must be 5-years of age on or before Aug. 1 to be eligible for admission. Those entering first-grade must be 6-years of age on or before Aug. 1. If your child attended another school for Kindergarden and has a birthday after Aug. 1, you will be referred to the school psychologist before your child is enrolled.

A screening program is planned for April 3-4. Parents will be given an appointment time for the screening during the registration process. It is important that all incoming kindergarten students are registered and screened.
