Police charge two men in Warren drug raid
Staff report
WARREN
Two men were charged with drug crimes Wednesday after police used a search warrant and found suspected heroin, suspected crack cocaine, guns and money in an apartment on Adams Avenue Northwest.
Later at the police station, the suspected heroin tested positive for the presence of fentananyl and acetyl fentanyl, which is reportedly five times more potent than heroin.
Charged are Dominique Murray, 24, of the Adams address, with two counts of aggravated drug trafficking and one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm; and Kenyon S. McGriff, 21, of Linda Drive Northwest, with possession of drugs and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Murray could get several years in prison if convicted. He will be arraigned today in Warren Municipal Court.
McGriff also could get several years in prison. He was arraigned Thursday, a not-guilty plea was entered for him, and he was released after posting a $25,000 personal recognizance bond, meaning he didn’t have to pay anything.
Two other men were taken into custody, taken to the county jail and released in the case. They are both 25, one of them living on Red Fox Run Northwest and the other living at the Adams address. They both face possible drug charges.
A fifth man, Paul A. Gombos Jr., 35, of Homewood Avenue Southeast, was arrested on a warrant.
The investigation was carried out by the Warren Police Department’s Street Crimes unit.
Officers confiscated one gun, drug paraphernalia and had three vehicles towed from the scene.
