Dr. Munir Shah of Northeast Ohio Universities College of Medicine was the guest speaker during a recent Austintown Rotary Club meeting. Shah helped begin the medical school, which accepts 35 students from Youngstown State University, University of Akron, Kent State University and Cleveland State University. The goal of the college is to encourage graduate students to stay in the area to meet the local needs. The college is a six-year program but a seventh year will be added. The college also has added a pharmacy vocational program and is planning to add dentistry. From left are Bruce Laraway, Rotary president, and Shah. SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR
