3 robbed at gunpoint leaving Austintown McDonald's late Sunday

AUSTINTOWN — Three McDonald's employees were robbed at gunpoint after leaving the restaurant late Sunday night, according to a police report.

As the three victims left the McDonald's at 5524 Mahoning Ave., they told police they were approached by a black male who pointed a gun at them and demanded money.

One victim dropped his backpack and ran around the building, knocking over another victim in the process. The suspect searched the backpack and the person on the ground. After finding no money, he fled the scene.

The matter is under investigation.
