“Resident Evil: The Final Chapter” will be released in theaters Friday. Here are five facts about the popular film franchise from imdb.com:

v Small screen: A TV series is supposedly in the works after the release of this final installment to the “Resident Evil” film franchise.

v Injury on set: During filming, stuntwoman Olivia Jackson suffered a severe injury to her left arm after a motorcycle crash, and ultimately had to have the arm amputated.

v Delay: The film was originally slated to start filming in fall 2013 for a September 12, 2014, release date but was canceled for a 2016 release instead. The reason for the film delay was due to the series star Milla Jovovich becoming pregnant with her second child.

v Return of actress: The film will see the return of Ali Larter as Claire Redfield. The character was last seen in “Resident Evil: Afterlife” (2010).

v Not returning: Sienna Guillory will not be reprising her role as Jill Valentine. She announced on Twitter that she was never asked to join the project.

“Mercy Street” (8 p.m., PBS): Season 2 of the compelling Civil War drama “Mercy Street” picks up immediately after the dramatic events at the end of the first season finale. The series continues to explore life at the chaotic Mansion House Hospital in Alexandria, Va.

“Secrets of the Six Wives” (10 p.m., PBS): On “Secrets of the Six Wives,” historian Lucy Worsley explores the lives of Henry VIII’s many spouses. First up: Catherine of Aragon, whose failure to give him a son led him to turn his eyes toward Anne Boleyn.

hActor to present classes at YSU

Youngstown

John Scacchetti, a Broadway actor and Youngstown native, will be the guest artist for a one-week residency at Youngstown State University.

He will present master classes in dance technique, question-and-answer sessions about the entertainment business and musical theater choreography sessions for YSU students today through Friday.

Scacchetti will teach a free master class, open to the public, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday in Beeghly Center, Room 119. The class will focus on classic tap-dance technique, working as an ensemble and solo dancing. Rhythm recognition, tap turns and classic styling will also be covered. Reservations are not required.

Parking is available for a $5 fee in the M60 lot on Fifth Avenue. For information, call Christine Cobb, professor of Dance, at 330-941-1896.

Scacchetti has performed on Broadway in the 2001 revival of “42nd Street,” and the 2008 revival of “Gypsy,” starring Patti LuPone. His national tour credits include “42nd Street” and “My Fair Lady.”

He was recently a visiting assistant professor of dance at Western Carolina University where he reset the original Broadway choreography for the school’s production of “Gypsy.”
