DENTAL

Cortland dentist Dr. Joseph D. Bedich was installed as Corydon Palmer Dental Society’s 2017 president at an installation ceremony during the organization’s membership meeting last week.

Dr. Bedich is a Howland native and a graduate of Miami University. He earned his degree from Ohio State University College of Dentistry in 1988. He completed a general practice residency at the Buffalo General Hospital while teaching there and at the State University of New York Buffalo School of Dental Medicine.

Corydon Palmer Dental Society is the local component of the Ohio Dental Association and the American Dental Association and represents member dentists in Trumbull, Mahoning and Columbiana counties.

AUCTIONEERING

Ohio Auctioneers Association has announced a new State Auctioneer Champion. Columbiana County resident Wade Baer, of Baer Auctioneers-Realty LLC topped a field of 36 of Ohio’s top auctioneers to take home the state championship in a Cuyahoga Falls contest Jan. 13. Wade is a third-generation auctioneer and real-estate broker. He is a 15-year veteran in the auction industry and conducts 100-plus auctions per year.

FINANCE

Merrill Lynch announced that Quinn Jones of Merrill Lynch’s Canfield office has earned the Certified Financial Planner certification awarded by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, CFP Board, and is allowed to use the certification mark as an educational credential. The CFP designation is awarded to individuals who meet rigorous education, examination, experience, ethics and other requirements set by the CFP Board.
