Church to host bean cook-off

WILLIAMSFIELD

Ladies Missionary Society of the First Congregational Church of Wayne will host a bean cook-off Feb. 25 at Wayne Township Hall, 3282 U.S. Route 322.

Contestants are wanted for two competition categories: soups and stews (no chili,) or sides and salads. Stews and soups should be in a crock pot or similarly sized roaster, and side dishes and salads should fill a 9 x 13-inch dish or larger.

Entry deadline is Feb. 3 and the cost is $20. There will be cash prizes. Applicants should mail the entry fee with their name, address, phone number and the name of the recipe to First Congregational Church of Wayne, 3291 U.S. Route 322, Williamsfield OH 44093.
