ATHENA nominations

Nominations are being accepted for the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber and The Vindicator/vindy.com’s 25th annual ATHENA Award Program, which celebrates the accomplishments of outstanding professional women in the Mahoning Valley.

The ATHENA Award program – one of the top five largest in the country for its number of nominees and attendees – has honored 900 women during the past 24 years.

The 2017 ATHENA Award Dinner will take place May 18 at Mr. Anthony’s in Boardman. Deadline for nominations and sponsorship is March 3.

New Chipotle to open

CANFIELD

On Saturday, a new Chipotle Mexican Grill will open in Canfield at 4542 Boardman-Canfield Road. The new restaurant opens at 10:45 a.m., and the first 50 customers will receive a free Chipotle canvas tote bag.

Normal operation hours will be 10:45 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week.

Hiring also is underway at the new Chipotle, and those interested in applying can do so in person or at careers.chipotle.com.

Renewed certification

CORTLAND

Commercial and residential alarm company, Howland Alarm Co., has renewed its State of Ohio Fire Services Certification. The certification makes it possible for Howland Alarm to perform annual fire-alarm system inspections required by the state, as well as all services, tests, repairs and installations of fire alarm protection equipment.

Team-building event

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber will have “Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team” from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Feb. 22 at Ciminero’s, 123 N. Main St.

The “Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team” is a learning experience that helps individuals and organizations reveal what it takes to build a cohesive and effective team in the most approachable, competent and effective way possible. Leadership expert Len Petrancosta will discuss the behaviors that great teams exhibit and how to execute those behaviors.

The cost is $25 for chamber members; $40 for nonmembers. Registration is required by Feb. 17. Register online at regionalchamber.com/events/.

Ohio Edison substation

LISBON

Ohio Edison, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp., will energize a new $2.5-million substation near Lisbon later this month to enhance customer service reliability and help meet future demand for electricity in the area. The substation is in Guilford.
