Austintown Fitch 62, Liberty 57

LIBERTY

The Falcons and Leopards went into overtime tied at 50. Austintown Fitch outscored Liberty 11-6 in the extra period. Randy Smith and Zac Bruff led the Falcons with 18 and 17 points. Smith went 11-16 from the line. Tyler James had 10 rebounds. Andre Bowers led the Leopards with 24 points, including three 3-pointers. He also had 10 rebounds.

Canfield 42, Hubbard 37

HUBBARD

Canfield overcame a 9-2 first quarter deficit to defeat Hubbard. Brandon McFall led the Cardinals with 11 points. Hubabrd was led by Davion Daniels (12 points) and Bashar Rasoul (10).

Newton Falls 46, Rootstown 44

NEWTON FALLS

The Tigers hit nine 3-pointers in their win over Rootstown. Evan Purnell, Joey Urso, Gage Friend and Adam Honeycott each netted two while Vince Dragichs hit one. Newton Falls was led by Joey Urso’s 13 points and Gage Friend’s 10 points. Chandler England, Scott Steger and Jack Steger each scored 11 points for Rootstown.

Lisbon 60, Southern 44

SALINEVILLE

Justin Sweeney recorded a double-double for Lisbon (10-4) with 21 points and 11 rebounds. He also had five steals. Branson Brownfield also had a double-double for the Devils scoring 15 points and pulling in 12 rebounds. Colin Sweeney scored 11 points and dished five assists along with four steals. Dominic Pugliano scored 11 points for Southern.

Western Reserve 70, Lowellville 51

BERLIN CENTER

Western Reserve improved to 10-2 and 4-1 in the ITCL Blue Tier. Cole Dezee and Kade Hilles paced the way with 18 and 17 points, respectively. Jack Cappabianaca added 13 points. Hilles and his brother Cody each had six rebounds, while Cappabianaca recorded five. Jake Rotz’s 16 points led Loweville. Jon Chiclowe netted 14 points. Rotz had five blocks and Matt Hvisdak had seven assists and two steals in the defeat.

Columbiana 68, Leetonia 44

COLUMBIANA

Burdette Baker scored 24 points and Jared Wilson added 22. Erik Hopfenziz contributed 14 points. Baker also had eight rebounds. Danny McCool led Leetonia with 15 points.

United 81, Crestview 69

EAST FAIRFIELD

Kaden Smith scored 27 points for United. Also in double figures were Jake Clark (18 points), Dakota Hill (17) and Parker Hydrick (11). Crestview got double figure scoring from Dalton Palmer (16 points), Scott Murray (15), and Chance Mustake (14).

Mineral Ridge 91, Jackson-Milton 78

NORTH JACKSON

Mineral Ridge hit 16 3-pointers as a team, and used a 35 point fourth quarter to outlast Jackson-Milton in a high scoring affair. Christian DiRando led all scorers with 31 points. Daniel Breedlove hit eight 3-poitners and scored 26 points. Also in double figures for the Rams were Jarred Miller and Jordan Zupko who scored 13 points each. For Jackson-Milton four players hit double figure scoring. Noah Laster led the Bluejays with 22 points. John Voland scored 18, Clayton Maskarinec had 16, and Eric Ostrwoski had 14 points.

Louisville 85, Salem 62

LOUISVILLE

Chris Libertore scored 23 points for Louisville in their victory over Salem. Derek Zeller and Jared Mathie each scored 14 for the Leapords and Brandon Wahl added 10 points. Mitch Davidson led Salem with 21 points including five 3-pointers. Badger 60, Mathews 44

KINSMAN

Aiden Miller set the pace for Badger by scoring 25 points with three 3-pointers. Logan Popovich added 11 points. Mathews’ Tyler Koeppen led the Mustangs with eight points and Ryan Gates scored seven.

Bristol 81, Newbury 29

BRISTOLVILLE

Five Bristol players recorded double figures in the win. Tommy Donadio led the team with 25 points. Phil Aliberti had 13, Matt Church scored 12 and Landon Slusher and Gage Ezra each netted 10 points. Bryan Gabriele and Landon Slusher had five assists. Gabriele also had seven rebounds. Phil Aliberti had five steals. Newbury was led by N. Parsons 10 points. N. Grubbs scored 8 points.

Valley Christian 54, Warren JFK 37

YOUNGSTOWN

Behind the 20 points of Imane Snyder Valley Christian rolled over JFK. Caitlyn Condoleon scored 17 points for JFK.

Josh Hephner Memorial Tournament

AUSTINTOWN

After day one of the Josh Hephner Memorial wrestling tournament, Austintown Fitch leads with a score of 108.5 after pool matches. Girard sits in third place with 89.5 points. Other local teams in the tournament are Liberty with 54 points, Boardman (36.5), Jackson-Milton (28.5), Hubbard (24), and Poland (9). Action continues today with semifinals beginning at 1 p.m. and the finals beginning at 6 p.m.
