Warren Harding boys basketball coach Andy Vlajkovich confirmed Friday night that senior center Derek Culver’s season and his high school career are finished.

“Derek will not be with the program the remainder of the season,” Vlajkovich said after his team’s 83-53 win over East Cleveland Shaw.

Vlajkovich declined to comment further, simply restating his quote when asked.

The West Virginia commit, who announced his decision to sign with the Mountaineers this past August, was listed on Friday’s roster, but did not play and was not on the bench during the game.

At this time it is unknown if Culver’s status with West Virginia is in jeopardy.

Culver is a four-star prospect according to 247sports.com.

The senior is also ranked 66th nationally, the 15th best power forward and the top-rated player in the state of Ohio in the class of 2017 according to the 247Sports.

Culver was also offered by Clemson, Indiana, Kent State and Memphis according to 247Sports.

The Raiders are 8-6 this season and will play at home Tuesday against Lakeside.
