Niles police seeking help to find bank robber

NILES — Police are asking for the public’s help a second time this month to identify a man who robbed a Niles bank.

A man robbed Chemical Bank on Youngstown Road in front of the Village Center Shopping Center near Marc’s at 12:52 p.m. today.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Niles Police Department at 330-652-9944, according to the Niles Police Facebook page.

Craig R. Honkonen, 35, of South Cleveland Avenue, is in the Trumbull County jail in lieu of $500,000 bond, charged with the Dec. 22 robbery of the Farmer’s National Bank in downtown Niles.

Honkonen surrendered to police Tuesday after Niles police posted his photo on Facebook.
