A summary of recent criminal activity in Boardman and Poland townships:
BOARDMAN
Jan. 13
Drugs: After pulling over a vehicle in the 5100 block of Market Street, authorities charged Katelyn M. Whitman, 27, of Johnston Place, Poland, with drug abuse, possession of drug-abuse instruments and obstructing official business, along with Pamela T. Kerby, 23, of Shadyside Drive, Boardman, with drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia. A suspected crack-cocaine pipe, two used hypodermic needles, two small portions of suspected marijuana and a bag containing 0.03 grams of suspected crack cocaine were found, a report stated. Also, Whitman gave police false personal information, they further alleged.
Theft: Someone entered Dairy Queen in Southern Park Mall and took an undisclosed amount of money from a safe.
Jan. 14
Drug paraphernalia: A traffic stop in the 300 block of Boardman-Poland Road resulted in the arrest of Jennifer M. Wilson, 39, on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. Wilson, of West Howard Street, Girard, had a suspected crack-cocaine pipe and straws with which to snort drugs, a report said.
Theft: Nichole J. McMurray, 21, of New Road, Austintown, and Ashley R. Etherly, 27, of Melrose Avenue, Boardman, were charged with stealing about $66 worth of clothing from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive.
Attempted assault: Police responded to a fight between three women at Southern Park Mall, where one of the women reported having been punched.
Assault: Authorities responding to an assault at a South Avenue car wash charged Jonathan M. Gabrelcik, 20, of Pointview Avenue, Youngstown, with simple assault after an employee alleged Gabrelcik had struck her face and pushed her during a confrontation.
Harassment: A Brandt Place woman said a caller made a series of obscene remarks to her.
Criminal damaging: A man saw that someone had struck and broke a portion of vinyl siding to his Glenwood Avenue apartment building.
Theft: An Afton Avenue man noticed a $300, 16-gauge nail gun missing from his vehicle.
Criminal damaging: A woman discovered a broken double-pane window to her Lockwood Boulevard home. Damage was estimated at $400.
Damage: A car left deep ruts and tire marks in the grass after having become stuck on property at Boardman High School on Glenwood Avenue.
Domestic violence: Angel M. Cruz II of Glenwood Avenue, Boardman, faced a fifth-degree felony domestic-violence charge after his girlfriend alleged Cruz, 27, had shoved her into a window, leaving a small cut to her hand, during an argument about their relationship. Also, the accuser was seven months pregnant, a report showed.
Drugs: Leonard L. Sykes, 43, was charged with a second-degree felony count of trafficking in drugs after authorities had pulled him over in the 900 block of Boardman-Poland Road. The Pittsburgh man, who also was wanted on a warrant, had in his trunk a bag containing 408 bindles of a white powder thought to be heroin, police alleged.
Jan. 15
Arrest: A traffic stop on Market Street led to the arrest of Terrence T. Hill, 30, of Choice Court, Youngstown. He was wanted on a Barberton warrant charging interference of custody, a first-degree misdemeanor.
Breaking and entering: Someone entered Boeau Belle Salon & Spa in Southern Park Mall after having pried open a rear door. An undisclosed sum of money was missing from a safe.
Harassment: A Canterbury Court woman said a man made two such calls to her.
Aggravated menacing: A worker for a Southern Park Mall store told police a customer irate about the service he had received 10 days earlier threatened to shoot him with a rifle.
Assault: A Hanoverton man reported having been punched during a fight at a Boardman-Canfield Road restaurant.
Arrest: While answering a call about a suspicious person at a Market Street gas station, authorities took into custody Eric R. Elerick, 41, who listed addresses in Warsaw, Va., and Burtonsville, Md., and who was wanted on a probation-violation charge from Sebring Court.
Breaking and entering: Someone forced open a rear door and broke into Pizza Joe’s, 6810 Market St., though nothing appeared to have been stolen.
Theft: Someone removed three bulbs from light fixtures at an apartment in the 6700 block of Tippecanoe Road.
Arrest: Authorities responded to a vehicular crash near Mathews Road, where they charged Joseph J. Dobos, 54, of Perry Street, Struthers, with operating a vehicle impaired.
Jan. 16
Theft: A Poland man reported a pearl-handled knife stolen from his semi-truck while he was at a South Avenue self-storage facility.
Attempted identity fraud: A Scotland Avenue man told officers a caller claiming to represent a credit-card company who said the accuser was eligible for a low-interest loan repeatedly asked for the last four digits of his credit card, which he refused to provide.
Identity fraud: An Eisenhower Drive man found a $20 unauthorized charge on his credit-card statement after someone had called claiming to be seeking donations for a breast-cancer awareness group. The caller initially asked for $100.
Theft: Alliance police handed to Boardman authorities Danniel J. Elder of Alliance, who was wanted on two theft counts. Elder, 27, was accused of stealing a $379 computer Feb. 21, 2016, from Walmart, and more than $1,300 worth of merchandise March 9, 2016, also from Walmart.
Attempted theft: A man reported having seen someone enter his vehicle in the 8500 block of South Avenue, though it appeared nothing was missing.
Aggravated menacing: A Halbert Drive woman alleged her former boyfriend had threatened via social media to shoot up her residence and kill her two children.
Theft: A man in his 50s reportedly stole three pairs of hunting gloves from Walmart.
Theft: Michael T. Block, 25, of McCaslin Road, New Castle, Pa., was charged in the theft of various computer games and related accessories from Walmart.
Jan. 17
Harassment: A Cranberry Creek Drive woman said she has received a series of such calls.
Theft: Xiomara A. Martinez-Perez, 21, of Monroe Street, Campbell, was charged, accused of stealing four women’s shirts and other articles of clothing from Walmart.
Arrest: John R. Tinney of Edgewater Drive, Poland, surrendered on a theft charge. Tinney, 26, was accused of stealing about $49 worth of assorted merchandise Jan. 4 from Walmart.
Thefts: An official with Lowe’s, 1100 Doral Drive, told police he believed the same man had committed three thefts at the big-box store last November.
Assault: A Cook Avenue man alleged another man punched his face after the accuser had apparently called the other man’s girlfriend.
Jan. 18
Arrests: While assisting Youngstown police, township authorities in that city pulled over and charged Brandon Hasley, 23, of Elm Street, Youngstown, with receiving stolen property, and took into custody Bruce J. Graban, 32, of South Heights Avenue, Youngstown, who was wanted on two Mercer County, Pa., warrants. The 2007 Kia Sportage vehicle the two men were in had been reported stolen in Youngstown, a report stated.

Theft: A Shetland Lane man discovered two firearms missing from his home.
Jan. 16
Theft: A man reported a $700 smartwatch, an electric toothbrush and charger and a bag stolen from his Eastbrooke Trail residence.
