Shakespeare Festival set for Jan. 26

GREENVILLE, PA

Thiel College will host its fourth annual high school Shakespeare Festival on Jan. 26 at the William A. Robinson Theater, 75 College Ave. Performances can be monologues, small scenes or ensemble pieces from any of Shakespeare’s works and must be under 25 minutes.

The festival is not a competition, but the event will end with an awards ceremony to recognize exceptional work. Students will receive feedback from a panel of theater experts from the Thiel community. College students will work as mentors for high school students with acting exercises and stage combat training.

The event is free and open to the public and audience members may come and go throughout the day, but stage access is limited to breaks between individual performances.

Pete Rydberg, assistant professor of performing arts and theater director for Thiel, is organizing the event. For information contact Rydberg at prydberg@thiel.edu or 724-589-2029.
