The Mahoning Valley Organizing Collaborative is hoping to inspire a discussion at 4 p.m. today about the criminal case against Bresha Meadows, 15, of Warren, charged in the July aggravated murder her father, Jonathan.

MVOC is calling it the “I Am Bresha Night of Solidarity.”

It will occur across various social media platforms.

Bresha is scheduled for her next hearing Friday in Trumbull County Juvenile Court.

Robbers steal purse

YOUNGSTOWN

Reports said two armed men took a purse from a woman Tuesday night in the driveway of a home in the 700 block of East Philadelphia Avenue.

Reports said a cellphone and money were in the purse. Police were called there about 10:35 p.m.

This is at least the fifth armed robbery on the South Side within the last two weeks, the majority of them with the suspects being two armed men.

Neighborhood cleanup

YOUNGSTOWN

An Idora Neighborhood work day to board up and clean up vacant homes will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday. Participants will meet at the Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corp., 820 Canfield Road.

Library board to meet

YOUNGSTOWN

The Board of Trustees of the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County will have a special meeting at 8:30 a.m. Friday in the meeting room of the main library, 305 Wick Ave. The board is expected to adjourn into executive session to consider the purchase of property for public purposes. No action is expected to be taken.

Park board meeting

CANFIELD

The Board of Park Commissioners of Mill Creek MetroParks will meet at 6 p.m. today at MetroParks Farm, 7574 Columbiana-Canfield Road. The only agenda item is planning for the board retreat; there will not be a public comment period.

Runaway teen sought

BRISTOLVILLE

The Trumbull County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help to find a runaway teen.

Alan Dulka, 16, has been missing since Jan. 3, according to a report from 21 WFMJ-TV, The Vindicator’s broadcast partner.

He was last seen at his home in Bristolville. He’s 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs about 180 pounds.

Investigators say Alan used the Western Bikeway Trail frequently, and the family has told police he has run away in the past.
