POLICE CALLS

A summary of recent criminal activity in Hubbard, Liberty and Girard:

HUBBARD

Jan. 12

Theft: A woman discovered 26 over-the-counter pills had been stolen from her purse at her Elmwood Drive residence.

Assault: Police responded to Hubbard Middle School on Hall Avenue, where a student reportedly had been twice punched.

Harassment: A Waugh Drive girl told officers a male had sent her an online message threatening to hack into the teen’s social-media accounts and phone unless she sent him sexually suggestive photographs of her.

Jan. 13

Attempted identity fraud: A Christian Avenue woman reported receiving a letter from a bank informing her that someone had tried to open several accounts in her name.

Jan. 14

Arrest: After responding to a suspicious person in the 700 block of School Street, police arrested Martel L. Tate, 26, of Cleveland on a Braceville warrant charging failure to appear in court.

Jan. 15

Arrest: Liberty Township police handed to Hubbard authorities Stephanie L. Dudley, 24, of Jamestown, Pa., who was wanted on a probation-violation warrant.

LIBERTY

Jan. 12

Drugs: A traffic stop near Hadley Avenue led to charges of disrupting public services, drug abuse and resisting arrest against D’ontre N. Adams, 21, after authorities alleged he had a bag of suspected marijuana. While in a cruiser, Adams, of Carlotta Drive, Youngstown, also called 911 for a nonemergency, then pulled from an officer trying to handcuff him, a report showed.

Recovered property: A wallet was found by the front desk of a business on Church Hill-Hubbard Road.

Menacing: A Logan Gate Road woman reported several juveniles had threatened her 10-year-old son at the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, 415 Church Hill-Hubbard Road.

Jan. 13

Recovered property: A worker for Days Inn, 1615 E. Liberty St., found plastic bags containing an undetermined number of blank checks in a room.

Jan. 14

Arrest: Youngstown police in the 2700 block of Belmont Avenue relinquished custody to Liberty authorities of Tiffany R. Jennings, 34, of West Earle Avenue, Youngstown. She was wanted on a township warrant.

Arrest: Jennifer A. Foley of Cameron Avenue, Youngstown, was taken into custody after having been pulled over in the 3500 block of Belmont Avenue. Foley, 28, was wanted on two city warrants accusing her of failing to appear in court on charges of receiving stolen property and possession of drug-abuse instruments.

Jan. 15

Arrest: Authorities were dispatched to a vehicular crash in the 3500 block of Belmont Avenue, where they charged Stephanie L. Dudley, 24, of Transfer, Pa., with obstructing official business, possession of drug paraphernalia and drug-abuse instruments after saying Dudley, who reportedly had a spoon with suspected residue and other contraband, had tried to push an officer and refused to comply with police. Also, a charge of operating a vehicle impaired was pending against a Greenville, Pa., man, 23.

Assault: Sherrelle V. Jones, 22, of Oakland Drive, Youngstown, faced a simple-assault charge after a neighbor alleged Jones had entered her apartment during a verbal altercation, then assaulted the accuser, leaving scratches to her legs and a bruised left eye.

Citation: Police handed a 14-year-old Youngstown boy a citation charging disorderly conduct while conducting a traffic stop near Hadley Avenue.

Burglary: To an apartment in the 4200 block of Logan Gate Road after someone had kicked in the front door. A Sony PlayStation 4 game system and a PlayStation game were missing.

Theft: A man reportedly stole a $148 remote-controlled drone, then fled from Walmart, 200 Goldie Road.

Jan. 16

Auto theft: A 1990 Honda Accord was stolen in the 3400 block of Belmont Avenue.

Domestic violence: A charge was pending against a Youngstown man, 34, after a Northview Drive woman alleged he had grabbed her beck during an argument related to money and before he fled from the apartment.

Criminal damaging: A Park Circle man saw that a passenger-side door to his work van had been damaged.

Jan. 17

Pursuit: Police responded to a report that a woman’s boyfriend, of Freeport, Ohio, was trying to run her off the road near Belmont Avenue before he reportedly led authorities on a vehicular chase on Interstate 80 and state Route 711 after they had tried to pull him over and before the pursuit was terminated in Youngstown.

GIRARD

Jan. 12

Menacing: A Patricia Drive woman said a neighbor had threatened her son as the neighbor returned with music blaring from his truck and when the son had asked him to turn down the volume.

Theft: A West Liberty Street man discovered six tires and four rims missing from his yard and truck. The theft came to $600.

Criminal mischief: Someone broke a front window, causing $500 in damage, to a business in the 30 block of West Liberty Street.

Domestic violence: A Girard girl, 15, was charged with the crime after her mother alleged the teen had pushed her, causing the accuser to fall down a flight of stairs and injure her right wrist, during an argument related to having changed the time for an appointment.

Jan. 14

Citations: An officer on routine patrol in the 400 block of Trumbull Avenue cited a man and a woman, no information given, on disorderly-conduct charges after alleging he saw them engaged in sexual activity in their vehicle, which was in a public setting.

Unauthorized use of a vehicle: An East Kline Street man alleged his wife had taken his 2015 Ford 4S without permission.

Jan. 15

Summons: Officers issued a summons charging Theodore Pruneski of Forsythe Avenue, Girard, with disorderly conduct after having gotten a complaint that he was playing a set of drums in his garage too loudly. An irate Pruneski, 55, also slammed a garage door, refused to allow police to re-enter and became belligerent with them, a report said.

Menacing: A Forsythe Avenue man and his daughter reported a neighbor had threatened them and called the man a series of derogatory names.

Domestic violence: Heather Franklin, 43, of West Liberty Street, Girard, was charged after a man alleged Franklin had grabbed and scratched him, then struck the accuser’s face during an argument. The victim had scratch marks on his face, police said.

Jan. 16

Vandalism: A car in the 200 block of East Broadway Avenue was spray-painted and had one of its tires damaged.
