Youngstown cops kept busy over weekend with robberies
YOUNGSTOWN — Police are investigating four robberies over the weekend, three with guns.
About 3:05 p.m. Monday, a woman told police she was robbed of her purse in the 500 block of Kendis Circle on the East Side after she arranged online to meet someone there to sell a video game.
About 1 a.m. Sunday, a man told police he was leaving a birthday party in the 2600 block of Tyrell Avenue on the West Side when two men with guns demanded money, hit him in the head with a gun and took $56.
About 9 p.m. Friday. A man was hit in the head with a gun in the 1200 block of Market Street on the South Side and robbed of $80.
About 12:55 p.m. Friday, a man cleaning out a vacant apartment on Alameda Avenue on the North Side was robbed at gunpoint by a man who said he wanted to look at the apartment. Taken were cash, phones and jewelry, reports said.
