Meridian Healthcare to receive $195,000

Meridian HealthCare has received $195,000 in capital funding from the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. The funds will go toward renovating two of Meridian’s housing locations.

Homestead House, a permanent supportive housing unit that targets chronically homeless individuals with co-occurring substance abuse and mental health diagnoses. The other is Homeless Solution, which houses programs that focus on inpatient treatment, transitional housing and permanent supportive housing for men, women and homeless individuals.

Registration set at West Branch

Kindergarten registration for the West Branch Local School District will take place March 23 and 24 by appointment only at West Branch Middle School, 14409 Beloit-Snodes Road.

Any child who is 5 on or before Sept. 30, 2017, and lives within the school district is eligible to be registered.

Call Anna Lesch, in the superintendent’s office, to schedule an appointment at 330-938-9324. Anyone who is a nonresident and planning to apply for open enrollment also will need to schedule an appointment for registration.

Open-enrollment applications will be available for kindergarten only. To be eligible for open enrollment, the child will need to be 5 by the date set by the district of the child’s residence.

These items are required at registration: birth certificate, immunization records, Social Security card, custody/court papers (if applicable) and proof of residency (utility bill, purchase/lease agreement, driver’s license).
