Harrington, Hoppe & Mitchell Ltd. recently announced that Matthew M. Ries, an employment and civil litigation lawyer, has been elected to membership in the regional law firm. With his addition, HHM now has 13 members.

Ries, a lawyer since 2008, focuses his practice on employment law and business litigation. He was recently recognized as a “Rising Star” by the Super Lawyers organization and as a “25 Under 35” award winner by the Mahoning Valley Young Professionals. In 2015, Ries received a Community Service Award from the Ohio State Bar Foundation.

Dale Standley of Salem will serve as vice president, portfolio manager serving clients in Mahoning and Columbiana counties out of the Youngstown office of Farmers Trust Co. Before his position at Farmers, Standley worked as a portfolio manager for Huntington Wealth and Investment Management, a financial adviser at First National Bank Wealth Management and as a portfolio manager at PNC Wealth Management.

APPOINTED

Team Northeast Ohio has appointed Mindy McLaughlin as director of international business development. In this role, she will serve as a member of the Team NEO Industry and Innovation department involved in the active recruitment of new business investment to Northeast Ohio with a dedicated focus on international business. She will establish working relationships with Northeast Ohio organizations dedicated to promoting international business and develop joint criteria to qualify leads and projects. McLaughlin joins Team NEO from JobsOhio where she served as senior manager, Global Sales Operations.

AWARDED

The Ohio Hotel and Lodging Association, OHLA, received two “Awards of Excellence” for 2016, the highest awards given by the International Society of Hotel Association Executives, ISHAE, at its annual meeting in San Francisco.

ISHAE Awards of Excellence are bestowed by hotel association peers across North America upon associations representing the hotel and lodging industry at the state level. Ohio won two of the six total award categories.

OHLA was recognized in the category of “Membership” for its rebranding, redefining of its value propositions, and all-new marketing materials and collateral items that help convey the benefits of belonging to the association to hotel and lodging properties throughout the state, as well as to partner companies in the industry.

OHLA was also recognized in the category of “Public Relations” for a collaborative industry promotion conducted during the 2016 Republican National Convention in Cleveland.
