BOARDMAN

Police and the Mahoning County Crisis Response Team were involved in the arrest of two apartment tenants after investigating a gun report.

Police received a call Wednesday afternoon about a gun found at an apartment complex in the 800 block of Cook Avenue, off South Avenue.

Another call then came in about two people fighting in the apartment building, and officers and members of the crisis response team were notified, said police Chief Jack Nichols.

When searching the building, Detective Glenn Patton said they arrested a tenant who leaped out a first-floor window, later identified as William Crawford, 26. They arrested him on a resisting-arrest charge and later discovered he had an outstanding warrant from township police on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia from Nov. 30.

Officers also arrested a female tenant, later identified as Amy Begeot, 31. Patton said she had two outstanding warrants from Jan. 5 and 6 involving several drug-related charges from the township police and Mahoning County Area Court.

It’s unknown if the two were involved in the fight.
